I’m getting sick of this pointless discussion: Gay Marriage vs. Marijuana legalization

goodreasonnews:

A lot of people on tumblr here seem to be getting in arguments about what is more important, legalizing gay marriage or legalizing marijuana. Guys, guys! You’re never going to have to make this decision. There’s no genie who’s been used twice and can only grant you one more. Washington’s not going to give you some ultimatum. Obama’s not gonna call and ask if you want one or the other, but not both. This isn’t a fast food side order, there’s no point in discussing what’s more important. Please, relax. Heated arguments are OK, when they matter. This doesn’t matter. You can want both, or neither or one or the other, but you don’t have to pick one. kthnxbi.

Exactly. So Massachusetts: let’s get together and walk that badunkadunk back up to the State House and tell them how you feel. It’s about time we got a second serving of liberty cabbage and freedom fries up here.

Hey Massachusetts,

What have you been up to?

Oh, you feel left out because everybody’s been focused on California lately? Mmmhm. I see. And they stole the decriminalization law that everybody worked so hard to pass last election? Well that’s no reason to be bummed out! Where California fails, Massachusetts succeeds. I mean, which state was the first to end the ban on same-sex marriage? That’s right! But what about California, didn’t they have it as well? Well, until the people voted it down. I sense a pattern. California can stop thinking they’re ahead of the curve, because Massachusetts has been seeing tomorrow since the shot heard ‘round the world.

And not just because of the time zone.

So you with the VW van, over at Hampshire College, yes, you. Put down the Roor for a second, and peep this shit. Once you finish this bowl/paragraph (I knew you weren’t really going to put down the bong), take a day-bag and fill up the van with gas and munchkins and drive East. Pick up people from Revere to Provincetown, and when you get there, stand on the shore, smoke a spliff, and watch the sun rise over the Atlantic, and know that a new day has come to Massachusetts. With your help, we will make it more than a day, but an age.

Peace,

Legalize It.
